Jon Peterson, Mississippi Cold Drip’s COO, made this video to spread the word about the devastation that Hurricane Laura brought to his home town and the surrounding community in Southwestern Lousiana.
People’s lives in the area are devastated, and in the summer heat, many people have no electricity, running water, access to their homes, or material goods besides those they packed with them when they evacuated. This hurricane has not gotten much national attention, and yet it’s one of strongest ever to make landfall in the United States.
Jon has established a GoFundMe to raise money in order to buy goods from a list provided by his family’s church and others; he’s working with Mississippi Cold Drip’s retail partners to get bulk pricing on essentials, and then driving them down to his hometown and surrounding communities. Once he’s there he plans to assess further needs and see how the Mississippi Cold Drip community can help.
Please do anything you can — if you’re in the Jackson area you can drop goods off that Jon will transport to Louisiana; you can also simply share this post, or the Facebook post, to help with awareness.

Thanks so much!
